Paarung/Mating

Male and female get closer and the male tries to push the female upwards. The male hooks its tibial apophysae into her fangs.

Male pushes her in an upright position to insert his palpal bulbs into her genital opening.

Both separate peacefully and the male can be introduced into his tank again.

Three months after having mated, the female prepares a webbing for the egg sac construction.

Drei Monate nach der Paarung bereitet sich das Weibchen auf den Kokonbau vor. Dazu webt es einen seidenen Teppich.

On January 1st 2001 the egg sac was fully completed. It will be carried around and cared for. 8-10 weeks may pass, before youngs will emerge.

Am 7.1.2001 ist der Kokon endlich fertiggestellt; das Weibchen hat in der Nacht zuvor Eier abgelegt und anschließend den seidenen Ball geformt. Dieser wird bewacht und herumgetragen. Etwa 8-10 Wochen können vergehen, bis die Jungspinnen schlüpfen.
